Impairment of Memory Function as a Marker of Progression from Behçet’s Disease to Neuro- Behçet’s Disease

Behçet’s disease (BD) is a multisystem relapsing inflammatory disorder characterized by recurrent oral and genital ulceration, skin lesions, arthritis and uveitis. The appearance of central nervous system (CNS) involvement in BD, usually called neuro- Behçet’s disease (NBD), is the majority of patients present acute meningoencephalitis with focal lesions on MRI, followed by slowly progressive dementia with progressive brain stem atrophy.
